The MCRD Museum Foundation is proud to announce our annual Globe and Anchor Salute will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Bay View Restaurant aboard the historic Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.
The mission of the foundation is to promote the legacy of the Marine Corps through historic preservation and conservation, free education programs, and community outreach initiatives that enrich the lives of marines, sailors, and the communities they serve.
Our annual event aims to raise funds for the Museum's VOICE program. VOICE (Veteran Outreach & Increased Community Engagement) directly impacts service members, veterans, and Gold Star Families in our local community in several ways:
• Tun Tavern Tuesdays: Our monthly event for young veterans to connect with active duty service members in a setting that is comfortable, familiar and builds camaraderie.
• Leadership and Education Forums: Connecting marines with industry leaders in the civilian sector through networking, mentoring and forging lasting veteran contacts.
• Family Forever Gold Star Program: Honors the sacrifices of families who have lost a service member on active duty, providing consistent, local support through remembrance and community building events.
• Dialogues on the Experience of War uses Museum art and artifacts to help veterans process and discuss their combat experiences in a safe, familiar setting.
By supporting this event you are directly impacting the men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving our country by wearing the uniform and selflessly sacrificing so much so that we may continue to live free. You are directly helping us connect the history of the Marine Corps to our community at large and the countless graduates and families who come through these gates.
Your generosity is instrumental in helping us preserve the legacy of the Marine Corps and support military members and their families, we are so grateful for your support
